Rapid Neuropsychological Consult

More than a quick memory check. Less than a full‑day evaluation.

If a screening test raised questions—but you’re not ready for a full day of testing—the Rapid Neuropsych Consult, offered by Idaho Neuropsychology, offers a clear middle path.

Is This the Right Fit for You or Your Loved One?

A focused neuropsych consultation that goes beyond a quick screening to explain what’s most likely going on, how concerned to be, and what to do next—without jumping straight to a full, all‑day evaluation.

Who it's for

  • Adults in their early 50s to late 70s with a family history of dementia who want a baseline and game‑plan.

  • People noticing subtle slips (names, focus, word‑finding) in the context of stress, poor sleep, anxiety, depression, or medical issues, but who are still living independently.

  • Individuals already told they likely have mild cognitive impairment and want a specialist’s input on risk and next steps.

What Happens in a Three-hour Visit

Before you arrive, we review your medical records and intake questionnaire.

A digital cognitive checkup using a tablet or computer.

A guided conversation with Dr. Audie Black about your history, day‑to‑day function, and safety.

Time for your caregiver or loved one to share their perspective.

Same-day feedback, in plain language, with a written plan and next steps.

How to Refer Patients for the Rapid Consult

A new option for your patients that bridges the gap between brief cognitive screens and comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations.

  • Single three‑hour consult includes record review, structured interview, functional and safety review, and digital cognitive testing (Creyos).
  • Ideal for low‑to‑moderate risk, common etiologies, preserved ADLs/IADLs.
  • Clear documentation and escalation thresholds for when to pursue full neuropsych testing.

Send new referrals and medical records via secure fax or e-mail.

Scheduling is typically within two weeks, and a full written report is returned to your office within three business days of the consult. Coordination continues with treating providers as needed.

How Does Self-Pay Work?

The Rapid Neuropsych Consult is offered at a fixed price of $1,750. The comprehensive neuropsych evaluation is $5,500.

We offer fixed-price evaluations so you have a clear understanding of the total cost of an evaluation before you even book your first appointment. To offer our patients greater freedom in their medical care options and a high level of privacy, we do not contract with insurance.

There are no sliding fee scales. For specifics, including scheduling and payment questions, visit our Logistics Page.
